Imagine your little one giggling with delight as they dive into a scrumptious cake, making a delightful mess while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Trust me, these photoshoots are as entertaining as they sound!
Not a fan of sugar overload? No worries! We’ve got you covered with our Fruit Smash sessions – just as fun, and a teeny bit healthier. 😉

e can arrange your Cake Smash any time when baby is around 10 months old.
Getting in touch in advance gives us time to style your session and evaluate props and decorations that I might need to source for you.
When you are ready to book, we can secure your appointment with a £75 session fee, which also includes your birthday-themed setup and a matching decorations and a cake made for you by my professional baker!
Approximately 10 days after your session I will welcome you back to the studio for your viewing and ordering appoint, where we will reveal your gallery and help you choose the products that suit you best.
I offer a range of image collections starting from £245.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Step 1 – Get in touch
Most of my clients like to have their session just before wee ones first birthday so get in touch when your wee one is around 9/10 months, that way you will have a selection of dates to pick from!
Step 2 – Your session
The session will take place in my Dumfries based studio, I say its a one hour session but please allow a bit more time just in case your wee one is a little unsure in this new environment so we can have time to get to know each other!
Step 3 – Image viewing and ordering
At the end of your photography session we will arrange a suitable date and time for you to come back to the studio to enjoy a beautiful presentation of your images.
At your relaxed portrait ordering appointment we will work together to choose your favourite images, products and artwork.

Cake Smash Sessions are perfect to capture the emerging personality of your little one… along with their reaction to the cake! Will they be cautious, curious or dive in face first?
A First Birthday Cake Smash sessions includes a variety of portraits:
– Simple portraits to capture your little one in your birthday finery
– The Cake! When your wee one will have free reign to smash, eat and generally make a mess!
– Splash! Which also doubles up nicely as clean up time too.

Session fee
The session fee is £75 and is due to be paid at the time of booking to secure your session. And this includes your choice of backdrop and a cake from my professional baker.

When should I book?
My diary quickly fills up and as most parents want to capture this time round wee ones first birthday I recommend contacting me 6-8 weeks before you want your session to take place.
What if my baby is unwell?
A poorly baby just won’t enjoy their session so if for any reason baby, or indeed you are unwell we will reschedule the session. I ask that you let me know as soon as you can and we can arrange the session for when everyone is well!
How long with the session last?
The session is normally an hour but please allow a little more time just in case wee one is a little unsure of the new surroundings. That way we can give them as long as needed to get used to me and the studio.
What if my baby won’t eat the cake?
Most babies have one part of the session that they enjoy the most so don’t worry if they aren’t too keen on the cake I have lots of tricks to help and make the most of the session. Oh and if this does happen it just means more cake for you to take home!
What if my baby is unwell?
If for any reason baby, or indeed you or your partner are unwell we will reschedule the session. I ask that you let me know as soon as you can and we will rearrange a time for when everyone is well.
