I am still here…

COVID-19 Business Update

Good morning on this beautiful, if a little chilly, late spring morning in Dumfries. I hope you and your loved ones are all staying safe and well.  Fortunately Darren, the girls and I are all well and making the very best we can of these strange times.  Even though home schooling comes with some challenges I am very much enjoying the extra family time, especially when it involves the girls baking!  I have also rediscovered my love of gardening, something I take from my Dad and have very much been enjoying exploring my garden in the lovely weather we have had.

Now back to business… taking into account the most recent update from the Scottish Government, the studio is still closed and I am not creating any client portraits as this time.   And this will be the case until the guidance changes and it is safe to return to work.  As a small local business I rely on your support and I am incredibly grateful to all my existing clients for their understanding and for all the new enquiries I am receiving.

As we wait patiently for an update on what we can do and when I would like to share a few things with you:

1. Existing Bookings

As soon as lockdown is relaxed and it is safe for me to resume work I will be in contact with all those who have had their portrait sessions postponed to arrange a convenient day and time for your new session.  In the first instance these may be outdoors where practical.

2. New Enquiries

I have created a waiting list for all new enquiries and I will be in contact with you when restrictions are eased.  Again I will offer outdoor sessions in the first instance.  If you would like to join the waiting list please complete the contact form below to be kept up to date.

3. Newborn Portait Sessions

My newborn portraits put me in close and prolonged contact with my clients so this type of photography may be the last to restart.  For all my clients who have had their sessions postponed please be reassured that no matter how long it takes for me to get back into the studio your session will still be valid and you can use it for any type of session you like.

4. Voucher Extension

If you have a voucher from me that has expired within the previous 12 month period I am offering to honour that voucher for a further 12 month period taking us to the end of May 2021.  If you would like to take up this offer please get in touch.

5. Studio Policies

At the very outset of the pandemic I introduced a number of stringent measures to help protect both my clients and me from the infection.  As the  time for me to reopen the studio gets closer I will review and update these policies to ensure that I am keeping us as safe as I can.  Shortly before any client comes to the studio I will speak with them in person to fully explain what actions I will be taking and what will be required of them.  Rest assured the health and safety of your family (and mine) is paramount.

6. Supporting other Local Businesses

This is just a wee request from me, as a small local business I rely on the help and support of not only my clients but the whole community so can I ask that where you can you help and support all local businesses.  Here are just a few ways you can help:

  • Shop local – many businesses have moved on line and are offering free delivery as well!
  • Buy gift cards and vouchers which you can use later (these are great gifts as well!)
  • Like and follow on social media and please share posts and comment when you can this really helps us!
  • If you have used a business in the past please consider leaving a review on Google or Facebook these will be very helpful once clients start looking for services again.

Thank you for your ongoing support and as always if you have any questions about a photography session or any of the points above please give me a call on 07540 349455 or email fiona@fionamckeanphotography.com.

To be among the first to hear when I will be reopening and creating beautiful portraits again please complete the form below.
