Practice what you preach…

I have always been passionate about family photographs and probably more so now that ever.  I love looking through old photographs and reliving the memories that they evoke and it never fails to amaze me what I learn!

With that in mind my lovely husband and children treated me to a family photoshoot for my recent milestone (minor one!) birthday with the very lovely Andrea Dennis of Pink Lily Photography.  When I spoke to Andrea I had quite a specific idea of what I wanted to achieve but as we were travelling to York for the session I left the location choice up to her while I made the clothes choices.  I made the decision to go for a very coordinated look although I didn’t want us all matching, especially the girls as the so often get mistaken for twins.  So I took my own advice and found what I was going to wear first, comfort was one of my main considerations when choosing what to wear so once I had found something I was happy with I moved on to the girls outfits and finally to Darren (men are so much easier to dress!!)  All that was left was to head off to York and enjoy the experience.

Andrea excelled herself with the choice of locations, we started off within York Museum gardens before heading down to the side of the river and finishing off on the walls of the city.  We had an amazing couple of hours together and I am absolutely delighted with the images.  I have added a handful of my favourites below.
